Data sources

Prices and station information come from the data published by the Régie de l’énergie du Québec on Régie essence Québec, where retailers report their prices under the Petroleum Products Act. The date of the last update is shown at the bottom of every page. PompeQC is an independent website: it is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, the Régie de l’énergie or the Government of Québec.

Map backgrounds and routes use data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL licence, and the OSRM engine. Brand names (Costco, Esso, Shell…) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the stations.

How the ranking works

• Ranking criterion: stations are ranked only by the price of the selected fuel, from cheapest to most expensive. In “Near me”, you can also sort by real savings (detour deducted) or by distance; in “Route planner”, the suggested stop is the cheapest station in each 100 km section. Filters (brand) only narrow the list.
• No paid placement: no station or brand pays to appear or to be ranked higher. PompeQC has no commercial relationship with the stations or brands shown.
• Coverage: the site shows the stations whose prices appear in the Régie data. Retailers exempt from the reporting obligation (small volumes, north of the 55th parallel, etc.) do not appear.
• Votes: the “Most recommended” section ranks stations by the number of anonymous votes from visitors. These votes have no influence on the price ranking.

Liability

Prices are reported by the stations themselves and are provided for information only. They may have changed since their last update: always check the price at the pump. PompeQC cannot be held responsible for a price difference or an error in the published data.
